President's Message:
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

On my way out of a recent Christmas bazaar, I bumped into a fellow Probus member. We greeted one another and when I asked how she was, with twinkling eyes and a saucy grin, she replied “I’m old and I’m awesome!” She quickly added that she likes to say that because it always brings a laugh.
And there it was, the through line of our Probus life, the essence of our 3F’s of “fellowship, friendship and fun”: the laughter. I look back at my calendar for the last several weeks and see so many occasions on which I was lucky enough to share in our “3F’s”: Dine Outs, a Dine In, our General Meeting, a visit to the Mocha Shrine, euchre, our Festive Luncheon, even more euchre, mahjongg, even our Management Committee meeting, all filled with stories, making connections with one another and always some laughter along the way.
Since 1938, The Harvard Study of Adult Development has established a strong correlation between deep relationships and well-being. Unsurprisingly, the study indicated that “human connection is essential for our well-being and happiness”.
We all have stories to tell; we all can make those connections. Thanks to the efforts of our Probus volunteers who willingly take on the tasks of the operations of our Club, those who organize and serve at our meetings and those who create events and social activities, our Club is able to offer so many opportunities for so many to participate. We give those volunteers our sincere gratitude. We also recognize and thank those who offer comfort and support in times of sorrow or need.
As 2024 draws to a close, we have a chance to contemplate, to gather and celebrate the season with family and friends, to lovingly remember those no longer with us and to create new memories to be treasured in the years to come.
I wish you all the joys of this Christmastime and look forward to the stories, the laughter and the connections we will share in the New Year.

Day Trippers - Out of Towners:

The Out of Towners are a group that provides day trip opportunities to our members spouses and friends. The events usually take place in late spring, summer and a Christmas event. Last year our group visited Dundurn Castle, Hamilton Botanical gardens, We also visited the theatre in Pt Stanley as well as Grand Bend and lunch was had by all. Finally we visited Casa Loma and the Distillery District Christmas Village. The trips were enjoyed by many and we look forward to planning some great new trips for 2025. The cost of each trip is dependent on modes of transportation and the destination.
The travel group will be meeting in January to begin planning the 2025 trips.
We would love to hear from group members where they may wish to travel in 2025. If you have a suggestion please email to Janice R. All suggestions are logged and the group votes on the most popular choices.
The travel group will convene in January to begin planning this years events.

Enjoy the Season!!
